Survey Launch - Experiences of Mental Health Service in Tayside.

People with lived experience of mental health services and their families, have launched a survey to offer an insight into the current health services in Tayside. The survey has been put together in collaboration with PLUS Perth, Angus Voice and the Stakeholder Participation Group (SPG). The survey comes on from Dr. Strang's 'Trust & Respect Report' which made 51 recommendations for change. The survey will help to gather evidence as top whether the wishes of the people accessing mental health services in Tayside are being met.

It is completely anonymous, but important for giving an insight into what is happening on the ground, in the every heart of our communities.

Take part in the survey online at:

or visit for the link or a hard copy.

The survey closes on Sunday 11th April 2021.

We are having a drop in day for volunteers on Wednesday 30th September untill Friday 2nd October. You will be able to meet with us, learn what we do and chat about the role.

We are always interested in finding new volunteers. If you are a caring individual that can understand the needs and concerns of others, and want the opportunity to improve local community services, then please get in touch. For a few hours a week of your time you can be making a difference by being the listening ear helping answer calls, or messaging people to let them know they are not alone. SLO has a range of opportunities available to the right volunteer. We don't look for fancy qualifications or years of experience, we look for people that:

  • Want to help others
  • Are patient and tolerant
  • open-minded and non-discriminative
  • Are organised and use their own initiative
  • Can listen and advice but not tell people what to do.
  • Over the age of 18yrs

Our Volunteers are valuable members of our team and we offer them:

  • The opportunity to learn new skills
  • Enhance their existing skills and knowledge
  • Create new friendships
  • Huge satisfaction in knowing that they are making a difference to people that are struggling

If you would like to Volunteer with The Stephen Lyon Organisation, please see our contact page for details of the range of ways you can get in touch.

We look forward to welcoming you to the team.
